New Baking NecessityMar 18, 2006
By Corey Bogdan
As a part-time ameature baker, I see dramatic results when incoporating this powder. My breads have a much better golden color, and colleagues at work often compliment my breads on their appearance.

Simply the Best!May 09, 2011
By W. Redmond
Barley Malt powder is super healthy, since the sugars are largely Maltose, which do not produce a sharp sugar spike for diabetics. I have tried just about every one available, and Barry Farms makes the best one of all. The Barry Farms barley malt powder is sweeter tasting than most others and quick dissolving in milk. I use it with straight cocoa powder and milk in a blender to make a tasty chocolate malted breakfast drink. Two tablespoons of this only has 3 grams of sugar. This is one great tasting health food.

Finally Found It!Apr 20, 2012
By Technician Ted
I have always loved the flavor of malt in shakes. However, I found most shakes were too sweet. I wanted to add just the malt flavor without the sugar or sweetening agent. This is it! I finally found the malt flavor I have been looking for without all the added ingredients. This pure malt powder is more likely to form lumps than a malted milk powder so a mixer or blender should be used. If you're looking for just malt flavor , this is the one for you.

NOT DiastaticApr 19, 2013
By J. B. Wolfer
This product came up when I searched for "diastatic barley malt," but now that I have it at home, based on the nutritional information and Barry Farm's website, this is non-diastatic malt. This is great for a sweetener that imparts a nice malty taste, but if you want a dough enhancer to improve bread texture and browning, this isn't what you're looking for. Hopefully Amazon will update the description to reflect this. Otherwise, great stuff.

Great productDec 05, 2010

I use this in many baked goods instead of brown sugar. It has a wonderful caramel flavor. It's powdery texture is not good for brown sugar toppings though. For that I use it mixed into Splenda with some barley malt syrup.
